The Art of Loving People (Teaching)
The Art of Loving People (Teaching)
Before Christ walked into my life, I "loved" inside of a little box. I "loved" those who loved me; I "loved" those who served me some sort of tangible purpose; I "loved" those who were in some way connected to the almighty ME. They were transactional arrangements, not relationships.
But then Christ blew the box off. So, you would think that, now that my heart pumps with compassion for EVERYONE around me, I would naturally have the ability to properly display His love to the world. I have not. The love that I have been trained to show the world is one that is 1) Agenda-ed (I want them to believe what I believe), 2) Self-Serving (I've gotten plenty of kudos from Church folks for my "love of the unlovely"), and 3) Conditional (I generally love people up unto the point where they show me that they are "unreachable" for Christ).
Now---is that really the love of Christ, that crashed into my life when I was at my worst? I think not.
Join me for "Let Us Demonstrate: The Art of Loving", where we will discuss the faulty logic behind loving the world with Church invite cards in our pocket; and how we could love people in a way that is winsome, contagious, and most importantly- GENUINE and WITHOUT AGENDA.
Jones Road Church is located at 8000 Jones Road on the Southeast Side of Cleveland, OH and service starts at 11am.
