“This is the question that I had to wrestle with at some point in my broken life? Religion had left a bad taste in my mouth, and the oxymoronic Catholic Church had God looking like a big fairytale to me. But the bottom line question- that I simply had to know- was “could it still be true?” Investigating that one question for myself has changed my entire life. I’ve found that God can be very real, even if my experience of Christians had been that they were very fake. God can be all powerful, even if the religious folks I knew around me were very weak and dilluted. God can be all loving, even if the people who represented Him around me were very legalistic and self-righteous. And God can still be all those things even WHEN I ACT THAT WAY. Don’t let what somebody else DOES with God define your belief or unbelief IN God. And don’t go the lazy route of just throwing up your hands like “who knows.” At the end of the day, the most important question that will face all of us as humans- with eternal significance one way or the other- is the simple question , “yeah, but is it true?”
